Gentle Yoga

The structure of this class has been developed for people who simply want to take their yoga at a slow, gentle pace, are new to yoga, have long-term physical issues or are starting the healing process of a more recent injury. It will help you develop a greater understanding of yoga and your body, at a speed which works for you. Offering a slower-paced class means we can help provide modifications, props and discuss what’s best for you and how you can continue to develop your practice.

Gentle Flow

Currently off timetable
Move at a pace that allows you to explore how your body feels and respond to it. Time to slow down and enjoy every stretch and fluid movement.

Strengthening and creating flexibility in the body, slowing down the busy mind and finding a connection with the breath. This class is for those who want to flow and strengthen in a calm, relaxed way

Movement for Everybody

This class offers a yoga-based movement practice to improve strength and mobility that doesn’t require any definition of being physically fit, doesn’t require losing weight or fixing injuries. It’s about engaging with life though your body: the body you have, any size, any ability and age. We will find forms of movement that you enjoy and benefit from. Movement is one of the best ways to become the version of yourself that gives you a direct experience of more joy, energy, strength, mental stability and connection.

Yoga For Beginners

Our beginners classes are a perfect way to introduce yourself to yoga. Ideal if you are looking to start practicing, to explore the fundamentals and to develop an understanding of yoga.

The sessions will cover a brief introduction of the history & philosophy of yoga. You will build confidence with foundation poses, developing an awareness of alignment, breath exploration, plus anatomical and emotional benefits these poses can
bring you within the practice.
Each session will include a gentle flow sequence incorporating all that you have learnt progressing to a final deep relaxation.

Ashtanga Inspired

The more detail and attention you can bring to the practice, the deeper the experience of flow in the practice. To that end, join us for a comprehensive weekly class to deepen your understanding of the Ashtanga Yoga’s postural series. Each week learn and breakdown different parts of the series postures and vinyasas with a little more chat & detail, offering insight into the conditions of each posture/vinyasa. This may include:

- The traditional vinyasa counts and movements.
- Tristhana - the three places of attention.
- The Fundamental Asanas.
- Suryanamaskara A and B (Sun Salutation)
- Meditation and Pranayama (Breathing Techniques)

This class is for beginners, advanced practitioners and teachers alike, who are looking to begin their practice and deepen their understanding or even develop a personal practice using the Ashtanga method. Ultimately though, it’s about using precision and detail to help us tap into Ashtanga’s powerful technique of a “moving-meditation.”

Class includes: - Half led Primary & Half led Intermediate Series poses.
Accessible for all.

Rise & Flow

Wake up your mind and body, find release and flexibility. Ease into movement, nourish your joints and create space in both body and mind so you feel set up for your day, focussed and energised. Expect to move, breathe, strengthen and flow. Come and feel a shift in your energy from waking up and getting out of bed to practicing and facing the day!

Meditative Movement

Currently off timetable

This is a Hatha based class which can be argued to describe ALL forms of yoga. It is the Sanskrit word for “willfull” or “forceful”. Also, meaning balance: “ha” the sun, “tha” the moon. The ancient yoga system, Hatha is  wilful, meditative movement that creates balance. This class is designed to build on alignment, strength and spirit. It will involve physical postures practiced slower and more statically combining a focus on pranayama (breath) followed by a quiet savasana.

Stretch & Meditate

An ‘all levels’ class exploring functional and static stretching. Active floor based poses with occasional standing postures and balances in a heated room (around 28 degrees). Focusing on detail and positioning, this class offers options in deep stretches and postures to lengthen and strengthen the muscles. A great way to prepare your body for the day or to compliment exercise.
A relaxing savasana and guided meditation follows offering a variety of mediation techniques such as mudras, breathwork, chanting and visualisations.

Strength & Grace

In our strength and grace classes you can expect a class where postures will link seamlessly with the breath to create energy and strength whilst maintaining a softness and fluidity. The classes will evolve naturally, slowly warming the body and develop postures and vinyasas to create the peak of the class. There will be a natural development and building sensation with a humble and inquisitive approach. There is no sense of competitiveness and you will be encouraged to listen to your body on that day and decide whether you need a challenging or calming practice.

Breathe & Flow

The mornings are a time for internal focus, considerate movement and setting a solid foundation for the day ahead.

This class will combine the traditional sun salutations with intuitive movement and deep, conscious breathwork.

Conscious breathwork can offer the space to experience a powerful sense of stillness, help increase stress resilience - making you stronger and more stable, reduce anxiety, alleviate depression and bring an overall sense of calm to your day.

This style of breathwork has been proven to profoundly, positively effect your immune system whilst reducing inflammation in the body.

You can expect this class to be around 40 minutes of movement and 20 minutes of breathwork and meditation. It is recommended that you bring warm, comfortable clothing for the second part of the class.

Revive & Restore

Currently off timetable

In this class, the aim is to create the same sense of freshness, freedom, perspective and calm as a walk out in nature.

Clear your mind and refresh the body with flowing movement and breath, then soothe your soul, relax into a restorative practice to calm your nervous system and feel a deep re-set.

A half reviving, half restorative class offering you the best of both worlds.

Balancing Flow

A slower flow with longer holds, building strength in body and mind, and finding connection between the internal and external.

Prenatal Yoga

A space for you to feel supported and nurtured during your pregnancy. We’ll move slowly and safely to create space and ease in target areas, and develop ways to use the body, mind and breath to support you through pregnancy, birth and beyond. Grab a cushion and a blanket- this practice is all about gentle, intuitive movement, connecting to your sweet babies and cultivating a serene state of mind.

Ensure you are past 12 weeks before you join class.

Postnatal Yoga

This is a gathering for women who wish to explore yoga safely after pregnancy. This class is suitable for babies until they are confidently crawling. The class will focus on yoga poses and breathing to boost energy, reduce stress and restore hormonal balance. We will use hypopressive exercises to reconnect to pelvic strength and stability. This class doesn’t require you to have yoga experience. It will be an opportunity to meet and practice with others and perhaps build a new support network.

Babies welcome until they can crawl. Feel free to bring any toys/blankets/cushions etc.

Ensure you are at least 8 weeks post labour (if uncomplicated) before joining class and had the all clear from Doctors/midwife. Feel free to get in touch if you are unsure.

Yin

In a highly stimulated and fast paced world, our senses are constantly distracted, challenged and heightened. We need to slow down. We need stillness. Yin yoga gives time in postures, sometimes up to 5 minutes of holding mainly floor based poses, to find space; space in the body and to allow opportunity for inner enquiry, insight and transformation. Yin yoga targets your deep tissue, fascia, ligaments and joints. It has a healing effect on your muscles, internal organs and adrenals. Expect a slower, more meditative practice allowing you to sit with any physical or emotional discomfort and find release and repair.

Sunday Stillness: Yin, restorative, meditation, sound.

This class is a perfect Sunday evening wind down. We are blessed to be sharing this session with teachers blending different styles from Yin, meditation, restoration and sound healing. Slow down and be still in floor-based classes, longer holds in yin, supported and cushioned in restorative, working into postures to target deep connective tissue and having time in poses to really acknowledge what is going on in your body in that moment. Your mind and body will thank you for this practice!

Simply Surrender

Unwind, release and let go. Get cozy and comfortable and surrender to simply being. In this class you can expect complete relaxation, nurtured movements, gently held yoga poses, guided meditation, pranayama (breath work) and savasana to help you relax deeply, helping your mind by nourishing your body.

Please bring blankets, cushions and anything to aid your pure comfort.

Sound Asleep

A bedtime sound meditation using crystal bowls to induce a deep state of rest, release and restoration. Tuning into the body, you will be guided through calming pranayama (gentle breathing exercises) leading into sound bathing bliss. Creating a unique soundscape, the crystalline sounds and vibrations work their magic on your body, guiding your cells back into balance and peace. All you have to do is lie comfortably!

Alongside the crystal bowl sound meditation, we may work with directed intention, affirmations, simple movements, yoga nidra and the scent of aromatherapy oils – all to facilitate a deeply personal journey into yourself. Bring any extra comforts; blankets, pillows, pjs, socks etc.

We advise that you should not partake in crystal bowl sound healing if you have or are experiencing any of the following:

  • Those with implants in the body (pacemakers, cochlear implants and metal plates) – this is more around concern of discomfort through the vibration but it is also unknown if function could be disrupted

  • Those with schizophrenia or severe mental health problems

  • Those with epilepsy or who suffer from seizures

  • Pregnant women in their first trimester while baby is developing
